Definition of facilities-related downtime

1. a period when the equipment cannot perform its intended function solely as a result of out-of-specification facilities. These facilities include environmental conditions (such as temperature, humidity, vibration, and particle count); house hookups (such as power, cooling water, house gases, exhaust, and LN2); and communications links with other equipment or host computers.
