Definition of start-up

1. the time required for equipment to achieve a condition in which it can perform its intended function when leaving a nonscheduled state. It includes pumpdown, warm-up, cool-down, stabilization periods, and initialization routines. Startup is included only in nonscheduled time . [SEMI E10-92]
