Definition of training, on-the-job

1. the instruction of personnel in the operation or maintenance, or both, of equipment done during the course of normal work functions. On-the-job training typically does not interrupt operation or maintenance activities and, therefore, can be included in any equipment state without special categorization. [SEMI E10-92]
