Hi thank u for doin a great job! i have a problem that i think deals more with physics than chemistry but plz try to help me out.....
(1)A 200kg ice boat is supported by a smooth surface of a frozen lake. The wind exerts on the boat an average force of 100N while tha boat moves 36m.Assume that freictional forces are negligible and the boat starts from rest find the speed after 36m by each of the following:
(a) Use newtons 2nd law of motion to find the acceleration of the boat. How long does it take to move 36m. How fast will it be moving then?
(b)Find the final speed of the boat by equality of the work done on it by the wind and the increase in its kinetic energy.
(c) What is the advantage in this problem of the energy approach of part B compare to the approach of part A.
