How would element chlorine change if it lost an electron?

I really need to know ASAP if it were possible for a chlorine atom to lose an electron,how would the element change?Thanks in advance.

the ionization Cl-->Cl+ requires approx. 1200 kJ/mole. at that energy, probably the media is a plasma mixture.

see ionization ability or disability is related to the energy needed to get the ion
for that it is hard to get a grp 7 cation due to the vey high energy needed
