ok so heres the thing. i wanted to know a couple of things see the qn is...
the concentration of a saturated aqueous solution of chlorine (approximately 7 g per cubic decimetre) can be dtermined by a back-titration method....in the first stage of the procedure, the solution of chlorine is added to an excess of a suitable reducing agent such as an iron (ll) compound.....in the second stage the amount of reducing agent left over is detemined by titration. ( the concentration of chloride ions formed in the first stage is too low to affect the titration).plan and describe a procedure that you could use safely to determine the exact concentration of a saturated aqueous solution of chlorine by back-titration
and i had another qns aswell
- how do u determine the amount of reducing agent left over
what do u do do u add acid to the iron? or do u know dilute it into a volumetric flask n then titrate it against potassium manganate 7? or do u do both?
-do u add acid to the chlorine n iron b4 titrating it?
ok these are the qns i have for now
