I need to know the [b]exact conditions[/b] for the acidic cleavage of aryl alkyl ether
with strong acid HBr or HI.

1. Go to the library and get a copy of "Advanced Organic Chemistry" by Jerry March. Find the section on strong acid cleavage of ethers and get the referred articles.- 100 % chance of success

2. Get a copy of "Vogel's textbook of Organic Chemistry" and look for the reaction. 75 % chance of success, I don't know if that particular reaction is in Vogel's

3. Look in Scifinder using the keywords "acid cleavage of ethers" or something similar and get some primary journal articles with experimental procedures. 100 % chance of success
