Definition of Nuclearity

The nuclearity of a single coordination entity indicates the number of central atoms joined by bridging ligands or metal-metal bonds.

The simplest nuclearity is mononuclear, followed by dinuclear, trinuclear, tetranuclear, pentanuclear, hexanuclear,... polynuclear.
